12.45
12.45…
The title comes from the time that I was designing the quilt, 12.45 am. I was lying in bed not able to sleep, designing quilts.
I was interested at the time in quilt designs that were simple and quick to make, as well as visually rich. By working with variations on a very simple grid, I was able to design numerous quilt blocks which created a dynamic quilt design. The blocks gave me a great deal of pleasure in themselves. I love multi block quilts. The very thin structural lines in the blocks have been of ongoing interest.
The line as a design element has generated a wide range of tangents that have lead indirectly to the Black Quilt Range and the Imagined Lanscapes: Goldfields quilts.
