I just love the secondary patterns that are created  by blocks. The garden series was born from taking one design and altering the colour-ways. The Lavender Garden was the first design and the Poppy Garden was the second. This design was inspired by the colours in Madras cottons. 

I find it fascinating the impact that different colour-ways have on the overall design. The difference in emphasis in a block design and the changes in the secondary patterns created by changing the colour & tonal range is ongoingly interesting.
