This quilt was an entry in the World Quilt Show 2009.
The quilt is made of two layers of fabric with designs on both layers.

The under layer is plain cotton, this has a lino print of an overall leaf design. I designed and cut the lino blocks and printed the fabric in a very dark green fabric ink.

The top layer is gauze, I hand drew the leaves on the fabric using black permanent fabric marker.
Then the quilt was hand quilted in white to reinforce the design.

I like the way that the quilt turned out, the layering of images and transparency of the fabrics is an idea that I am going to use again for other quilts in the future.

The leaves were drawn from life; I collected a few 100 of them and drew each one.
