I have been experimenting with bleach on patterned fabrics. On the weekend I screen printed a rectangle of bleach onto a range of Japanese cottons.
With some surprising results, the olive fabric that bleached to aqua is a favourite of mine.
Then I sewed the blocks into pairs and then strips. This was done randomly; I did not choose which blocks were combined. The idea of serendipity is the underlying theme.
I did shuffle the rows around a little, for the final quilt layout.
The quilt top has to be quilted & I can make use of the blocks that were not used on the front of the quilt- so no scraps left after the quilt is finished.
