The Hold Collection
I have been designing and making small bags, pouches and containers over the last few months. Objects to hold things, in all shapes and sizes. I have designed and printed most of the fabrics. The fabrics are screen printing and stencil printed. At the moment I am writing a pattern to make 5 of the bags.

Look what I made :)
I have been thinking about small carry bags this week different shapes, sizes and decorations. Yesterday I made one of the sketches. I found this very nice canvas in a curtain shop; it has an aged quality to it. I screen printed the line/dot pattern on to the fabric. Overall I am very happy with …
Beautiful Pebbles
Every now and then I visit Ashes & Milk an online gallery. They have a range of artists that create work that I like a great deal. They describe their collection “as a boutique of texture, organic materials, and nuances of white, brown, and gray” One of the artists, Yoran Morvant caught my attention. His …
A Neat Studio & Freebies
I have been organising the studio in the past week and in that process I collected and made a small PDF of simple square grids. I have been using these to design quilts for a number of years. I thought they might be if useful for other people in their design work. I have put …
Amazing Quilts!
I was reading about quilters on sewn.net.au & came across the work of Ingrid Press. www.sewn.net.au/HaveASay/GuestCorner/IngridPress Her work is amazing, beautifully resolved pieces that are just lovely to look at. The quilting is just gorgeous.
Which Way? This way!
I have nearly finished a quilt that I designed 7 years ago, originally it was a larger quilt, but the design works well in a play quilt size.
Wall hanging
I do like it when I get to make up my quilt designs – it takes me longer to make a quilt, than to design one. I have had a very productive few weeks. I finished off part of a commission order to make a wall-hanging and a set of cushion covers. This is the original sketch …
The Big News.
The Big news is The Fat Quarter Shop have my patterns in their PDF pattern section.
Some of my Favorite Things
I was having break from sewing a few days ago and I realized that the things that I have at the side of my machine also follow the circular theme. I liked the interplay between the shapes.
Sweetheart Quilt.
I am just enchanted with circles at the moment, either as patchwork or as a quilting design.
Serendipity Quilt
I have been experimenting with bleach on patterned fabrics. On the weekend I screen printed a rectangle of bleach onto a range of Japanese cottons. With some surprising results, the olive fabric that bleached to aqua is a favourite of mine. Then I sewed the blocks into pairs and then strips. This was done randomly; …
Started at last!
Dennis & I are having an exhibition of our work later this year. I will be contributing the textiles (patchwork & quilting) and Dennis his beautiful etchings. Last week I started making work for one section: Leaves on the Ground. Two years ago I hand cut 16 x square lino blocks, to print a piece …
